My name is George Trichias, and I am originally from Volos. Since 2011, I have lived permanently in Rhodes and have been working at "RODION Athlis."
My journey in sports began at the age of five, specifically in football, where I started playing at an amateur level until 1997 and then professionally until 2011.
Although I earned a degree in Computer Programming and pursued parallel studies in Energy Technology, my love for football ultimately prevailed, leading me to choose it as my primary profession from 2010 onward. This career path brought moments of joy and challenges.
Over the years, I had the honor of playing for several Greek teams across all divisions, including AEK, Olympiakos Volos, Rhodes, Messiniakos, Panachaiki, Chania, Panetolikos, Kalamata, Niki Volos, Athinaikos, Thrasyvoulos, and Panelefsiniakos. Additionally, I had the privilege of representing Greece in the national teams of Youth, Juniors, and Armed Forces.
One of the most significant moments of my athletic career, which is hard to forget, was my first European participation in the UEFA Cup with AEK in 2001. Another highlight was being awarded by the P.S.A.P. as the top footballer in Greece in the 3rd National Division in 2009.
Even more important were the difficult moments of this journey, which, combined with the collaborations I had with top personalities in sports, helped shape my thinking and character, enabling me to manage demanding situations in my later professional career.
Since 2011, I have been responsible for organizing and managing the sports center and club. This position is a new experience for me, combining the excitement of sports with the organization, consistency, and culture of a comprehensive educational group like "RODION PAIDEIA."
I consider myself fortunate to continue working in the field of amateur sports, albeit under professional conditions—a rare opportunity today.
"RODION Athlis" is innovative, offering opportunities and platforms for employees to grow with it, and I am very proud to have successfully combined my new career with the club's entry into the sports scene of the Dodecanese.
As a holder of UEFA A, B, and D coaching diplomas, I took on the developmental age groups (U14, U12, U10) at "RODION Athlis" from 2011 to 2017. Since 2017, I have been selected by the Dodecanese Football Association (E.P.S. Dodecanese) as the coach for all Mixed teams (U16, U14 boys, and U15 girls), achieving 3rd place in the national pre-selection championship for national teams in the 2022-23 season (U14) and receiving the FAIR PLAY award from the Hellenic Football Federation (E.P.O.) in the 2018-19 season (U16).
Reflecting on my journey and having made several team choices as an athlete, I can confidently say that I saved the best for last. The club's motto is #rodioneisai, and with great certainty, I can say that... #rodioneimai!
