Pope
Kourmadia
Position: Infant Caregiver
School Level: Kindergarten
Employed Since: 2022
My name is Popi Kourmadia, and I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Rhodes. I am an Infant Caregiver and graduated from the Department of Early Childhood Education in Creative Activities and Expression. I am currently working at "Rodion Paideia" School in the Kindergarten, specifically in the Nursery section.
I am passionate about continuous education, as reflected in the various certifications I have earned from attending seminars related to children and even adults—because we were all children once, or we might wish to be again. The seminars I had the valuable opportunity to attend covered wonderful topics, such as puppetry, painting, the child and storytelling, and child psychology, helping even the shyest individuals express themselves.
From my childhood, I remember school as a somewhat strict and not very warm place, and I always dreamed that if I ever worked with children, I would have a loving embrace for all of them. This led me to imagine how I would be in the role of a teacher because it's not enough to say we love children; they need to feel it too.
I believe that the role of an Infant Caregiver is the most important in the world, as it involves the responsibility of creating an atmosphere of affection, acceptance, safety, joy, and love. In this environment, children can develop a healthy personality and grow mentally and emotionally before entering formal education.
I am married to Panagiotis, and we have two children: Rafaela, a first-year high school student, and Afroditi-Tsambika, a fourth-grade student.
