Position: Kindergarten Teacher

School Level: Kindergarten

Employed Since: 2007

My name is Polyxeni Mastromichali, but I insist you call me Xenia! I am married and have two children, although I wouldn’t describe myself as traditional. I was born and raised in beautiful Rhodes and fulfilled my promise to complete my studies on time. In 2007, I proudly graduated from the School of Humanities at the University of the Aegean, in the Department of Early Childhood Education and Educational Design, with top honors and a scholarship from the Emmanuel and Mary Stamatiou Scholarship Foundation of Rhodes, surprising even myself.
As a restless spirit, I immediately sought a school that met all my academic desires for an exemplary institution. My first steps were taken in 2007 at the Summer School of "RODION PAIDEIA." Since the formula proved successful, I joined the Kindergarten team when it opened in September 2007, and I've been part of the most colorful and playful Kindergarten ever since!
quotations
Over the years, I've experienced pride and validation in my choice to be part of this team. I've had the opportunity to organize theatrical performances, radio presentations, art exhibitions, films, and charitable activities—essentially, festival organizing!

I've also discovered a hidden talent for songwriting. Through the European School Radio competition, our songs, created with my talented students, won First Prize in the "Kindergarten Song" category three times. However, the real prize was the joy of creating music that sticks in your mind and makes you hum along.
I enjoy staying updated with developments in the field of Pedagogy by attending seminars and workshops every year, even if I occasionally annoy my loved ones with my headphones. I am certified in sex education, aiming to improve myself and others, and I hold degrees in English and German, which have been particularly useful in my multicultural classrooms. I find inspiration and freedom in participating in theater groups, and I have a deep love for museum education, in which I aspire to train and teach. I am also very passionate about environmental issues, which is reflected in my involvement in environmental education. After many years, I finally have a window full of lush green plants!
You can spot me in Kindergarten by my smile and my morning songs like a jukebox, always accompanied by some necessary movement. If you smile back, I’m ready to duet with you!
