Maria
Leventi
Position: Physical Education Teacher
School Level: Elementary School
Employed Since: 2004
My name is Maria Leventi, and I am a Physical Education teacher. I studied at the University of Physical Education in Novi Sad, Serbia, specializing in social, European, Latin American, and traditional dances. I have expertise in rhythmic gymnastics and sports dance and am a certified Zumba Instructor.
I have been working at our Educational Institutions since 2004 and collaborate with our Group's sports club, "ΡΟΔΙΩΝ άθλησις," where I enthusiastically share my knowledge and experiences with my colleagues – coaches, training athletes, and presenting athletic spectacles. I also actively participate in the presentation of spectacular music and dance performances at the annual end-of-year celebration at the Medieval Moat Theatre "Melina Mercouri." In 2020, I had the honor of being awarded by the school administration as the Educator of the Year for my dedication to education and sports.
I have participated in dance festivals in Greece and abroad (England, Belgium, Serbia, Russia) and continue this activity by keeping up with developments in my field. Additionally, I have served as a judge in school artistic competitions organized by the Ministry of Education. I had the pleasure, as a sports dance coach, to win first place in the school artistic competitions in 2006 with the team of students from our school.
My love for physical education, exercise, and the human body often drives me to further my education by attending seminars related to my specialty. I hold certifications in first aid and body rehabilitation after injuries, as well as for muscular or skeletal conditions.
I am particularly sensitive to social issues and am a volunteer organ and bone marrow donor. I believe that "Lifelong Exercise" ensures health, and this message is what I strive to convey with enthusiasm and passion through my lessons.
I speak English, German, Serbian, and Russian, and from a young age, I loved music, which led me to study piano and guitar.
I am married to Philippos, and we have the joy of being parents to four children, who attend our school and excel in Mathematics, Literature, and Sports.
