I have been awarded the Meta Inc. Faculty Research Award in Security, the Joukowsky Outstanding Dissertation Award, and the Miretta Flytzani-Stephanopoulos Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation.
My research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative from the state of Virginia. Before joining George Mason, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. I received my Ph.D. from Brown University. I studied Computer Science at the University of Crete, where I earned my Master's and Bachelor's degrees as a member of ICS-FORTH. After studying classical music in Rhodes and Heraklion, I received my classical guitar diploma from the Modern Conservatory of Crete in 2010.
"RODION PAIDEIA" School and its amazing teachers gave me the opportunity and time to lay the foundation of my academic career. Without their dedication and passion for knowledge, beyond the "dry equations" described in school textbooks, I don't know if I would have made the same professional choices.

When I think about the journey that led me here, I realize that "RODION PAIDEIA" School was the first significant milestone.
I started my journey there from elementary school and gained knowledge and experiences that were invaluable foundations for what followed. I studied at Plymouth Marjon University and earned my BA (Hons) Outdoor Adventure Education degree with distinction in 2017. The journey continued with two master’s degrees with distinction in tourism and recreation: MSc from the University of Derby (in England) and MA from NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (in the Netherlands).
Immediately after, I worked for two years as a lecturer in the tourism department at NHL Stenden and then returned to England in 2021 as a lecturer and head of the department at Plymouth Marjon University.
At the same time, I started my Ph.D. at the University of Chichester and worked as an external examiner at the University of Highlands and Islands. These last five years, I have taught many students, learning from them as well.
I learned to find the most appropriate ways to approach and encourage each one individually.
In all that I have accomplished so far, my teachers at "RODION PAIDEIA" played a huge role.

I started attending "RODION PAIDEIA" School from its first year of operation in 2003, as a student in the sixth grade. I studied Speech Therapy, a field that nurtured my empathy and communication skills. However, my thirst for adventure remained unquenched.
Sailing, a lifelong passion, eventually evolved from a hobby into a fulfilling career. After the onset of COVID-19, I sought an escape and made the decision to sail across the Atlantic Ocean, heading to the Caribbean. This pivotal journey led to my first job as a Chief Officer on a super yacht. Since then, I spend winters in the Caribbean and summers in the Mediterranean. I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean six times and once crossed the Pacific Ocean, and I am currently embarking on a mission to the North Pole.
The support and values instilled in me by the school and my family were crucial in shaping my identity, driving me to embrace challenges and seek new horizons. Their influence was instrumental in my transition from a student to an experienced sailor, pushing the boundaries of exploration and personal growth even further.

I graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Athens and continued my training in dental implants at New York University, where I presented my surgical cases and thesis. I then completed my postgraduate degree in "Metabolic Bone Diseases" at the Medical School of the University of Athens with distinction. Today, I live and work in Rhodes, where I have established my private clinic.
Alongside my professional career, I am a dedicated long-distance triathlete. As a child, I faced diabetes, and my commitment and discipline in sports have helped me maintain good health and well-being.
One of my most significant athletic achievements is my participation in the EVERESTING cycling challenge, which I organized on the island of Rhodes. EVERESTING is a global challenge where participants climb the equivalent of Mount Everest (8,848m) in elevation. Starting at 6:00 am, I cycled for 14.5 hours non-stop, covering the distance from Salakos to Prophet Elias with 26 ascents and 26 descents. The school stood by me and helped with the entire organization, as well as raising funds for a charity that helps children with diabetes.
In addition to all the love I received from our school, the volunteers, and the cyclists who came to accompany me that day, I also became known on TikTok/Instagram due to a joke Mr. Kyriakoulis made to my mother, from the famous line of my mother: "Shall I make you moussaka on the next descent?"
"RODION PAIDEIA" School played a catalytic role in my journey and never stopped supporting me, even after graduation. My experience at "RODION PAIDEIA" taught me that knowledge has no limits, as long as you have the right teachers and a school with suitable facilities that nurtures values.

I am proud to be part of the Alumni group of our school!
I always associate my experience at 'RODION PAIDEIA' School with a beautiful journey. Not just for the many great moments, but because these journeys inspire and push us to see a new aspect of ourselves and move forward.
This is exactly what I needed when I arrived there in the second year of high school.
Since then, the journey has grown, both metaphorically and literally. After completing my studies in Economics at Panteion University and my master's degree in International Marketing at AUEB, my professional journey in hospitality began.
The journey started with Marriott International, working in managerial roles in various luxury brands in China, Dublin, Santorini, and London. Big and special challenges came with many individual and team distinctions in performance, goals, awards, etc.
I am a member of Accor and the Hoxton brand, continuing with relentless journeys as I oversee the operations of our units and the opening processes of our new hotels worldwide.
I am sure that many more such journeys will start from our school, and I will be happy to follow them!
